This role is part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark Credit Union. The position is responsible for daily functions related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers at blithequark Credit Union. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, develop your skills, and provide top-notch service to our members. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data entry and balancing functions
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Work member cases/sports assigned
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
  • Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtain information from for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
  • Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
  • Communicate with the vendor to process fund transfers
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws
  • Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
  • Complete daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate Excel and Word skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
