Job Overview and Responsibilities
As a Customer Contact Center Trainee at blithequark, you will serve as a frontline representative, assisting our members, retirees, and employers with a wide range of questions, inquiries, and requests related to post-retirement pension and benefit information. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence in a timely and professional manner
- Providing accurate and helpful information to customers, addressing their concerns and resolving issues efficiently
- Utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers, staff, and other stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of customer interactions, using our database and software systems
- Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals, share knowledge, and improve processes
- Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge of blithequark's products and services
Work Schedule and Requirements
This part-time position requires a commitment of 29 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You will be required to attend virtual training sessions, facilitated by Microsoft Teams, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, during the initial training period.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a high-volume customer service position
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently, both verbally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A college degree in a related field, such as communications, business, or human resources
- Prior experience in pension, benefit plan, HR, or counseling
- Knowledge of financial planning terminology and the ability to interpret and apply benefit plan information
- Experience working with diverse customer populations and using various communication mediums
