**Job Summary**
As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing support and guidance on patient care and third-party reimbursement. You will be responsible for processing new orders, responding to questions, resolving issues, and ensuring patient, referral, and employee satisfaction. This is a remote opportunity, and you will work from home, enjoying the flexibility and autonomy that comes with it.
**Responsibilities**
* Provide exceptional customer support to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and other communication channels
* Process new orders, respond to questions, and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
* Collect co-pays and deductible amounts, conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services/products, and obtain authorization and qualification documentation
* Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
* Maintain accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
* Manage all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and inputting data into IMBS and eIntake
* Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
* Process work orders to field locations and coordinate timely fulfillment of products and services ordered
* Provide product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
* Perform other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required
* One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
* Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
* Strong customer service background
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
* Medical terminology knowledge
* Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills
* Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
* Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Skills and Competencies**
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel
* Familiarity with email transmission and communication, internet navigation, and research
* Ability to work with office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, phones, and computers/tablets
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
