Overview
TFEC is intentionally growing our team of Indigenous mental health professionals to work with FNIM clients. Mental health is always a priority for both individuals and communities and TFEC is seeking professionals who understand and respect Indigenous cultures and values through lived experience. Who We Are:
The Family Enhancement Centre is a full service counselling centre working with children, youth, adults, couples, and families. Over the last 19 years, we have been expanding geographically as well as increasing our services to include groups, on-site community and corporate services and more.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical psychotherapy to Indigenous children, youth, adults, couples or families.
• Conduct clinical counselling to clients over the phone and via video conferencing.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on the needs of the clients.
• Facilitate open or closed psycho-educational groups.
• Produce professional quality clinical notes within 3 business days
Job Requirements:
• Must be First Nations or Inuit.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct counselling experience
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling skills and theory as it relates to Indigenous children, youth, individuals, couples and families
• Training and experience in preferred modality; EMDR, EFT, CBT, Solution Focused, Critical Incident, Narrative, DBT, Healing Wheel, 7 Grandfather Teachings, etc..
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex cases
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and paperwork
• Fluency in other language is an asset
Educational Requirements and Credentials:
• Master’s in social work (MSW) or Equivalent (preferred)
• Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador or a Registered Clinical Social Worker in British Columbia or Alberta.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
