About the position
Responsibilities
• Administers and interprets audiological tests, including puretone threshold testing, speech recognition testing, Strenger testing, acoustic immittance testing, and bone conduction testing.
• Prepares related reports and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
• Reads order requests and thoroughly reviews medical history, including service records and previous exams.
• Completes appropriate Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) and Medical Opinions (MO) through the Electronic Medical Records System (EMR) during the exam.
• Explains the exam process to the veteran and confirms the claimed conditions with the veteran.
• Completes chart and submits exam within 24-48 hours after the exam is completed.
• Follows appropriate protocol in case of behavioral health or medical emergencies.
• Commits to serving Veterans, including those with service animals.
Requirements
• A Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D)
• A Master's degree or doctorate degree from a university accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHA
• CA Audiology License (Required)
• Manual dexterity to calibrate equipment
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms
• Ability to perform focused evaluations on all bodily systems
• Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision making
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Nice-to-haves
