CHURCH HR ADVISOR (CA Expertise) Position Description: Church HR Advisor (CA Expertise) Supervisor's Title: Managing Partner, COO Position Type: Regular Part-Time, Non-Exempt (20-25 hours/week) Location: Remote Who WE Are HR Ministry Solutions is a faith-based non-profit organization that serves churches and ministries by helping them with their HR needs. This 501c3 organization was launched with the mission of helping churches be as passionate about protecting and providing for their staff as they are for the people they are reaching. HRMS continues to grow rapidly and has expanded their reach nationwide with services and resources for Church Executives, HR Staff and Ministry Managers. A few of these services and resources include HR audits, compensation audits, HR essentials, conferences, webinars, and online learning modules. Role Snapshot The role of the Church HR Advisor (CA Expertise) is to assist church and ministry clients with HR audits, Staff Handbooks, Job Descriptions, and other services while helping them scale those ministry-specific HR questions they have. Our perfect candidate excels at … • Consulting in Church & Ministry HR Compliance – You know the differences in church/ministry HR and have a heart for making the big “c” church better for those who serve • Encouraging Others in Ministry – You are the master at loving & encouraging those with their calling in ministry • Living in the Details - You are great at proofreading & making sure nothing falls through the cracks • Playing Well with Others - You are the master at being the go-between How You Will Contribute • Conduct virtual church/ministry HR Audits • Create Audit Gap Analysis Reports & Action Checklists • Walk clients through church best practices for a multitude of HR areas • Customize Staff Handbooks • Research and provide HR answers based on ministry best practices & compliance • Meet with clients to go over gaps in their HR & what we can do to help • Create policies, forms, checklists, guides, and other documents for clients • Edit various documents for flow and errors • Create job descriptions • Develop timelines and blueprints for each client’s project • Track projects in SmartSheet to keep clients moving along their blueprint timeline • Communicate with clients through emails or phone calls in a professional manner • Meet regularly with the COO & Project Coordinator(s) • Manage information in CRM database, updating as needed • Stay up to date on new HR legislation both secular and church-related • Understand and advise on wage and hour issues including ministerial exception • Conduct Basic Compensation Audits • Audit 1099 classifications • Create Org Charts & Staff Tiers in collaboration with clients • Other administrative related duties and projects as assigned. You Got Skills? Required: • 1+ year working in a church or ministry as a paid employee (not volunteer work) • 2+ years of HR experience, specifically CA • Proficient in MS Word and Excel • Proactive in learning and actions, able to drive projects and timelines, and able to work autonomously with minimal or no oversight Preferred: • Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New York and/or Illinois experience • Bilingual (English/Spanish) • Christian education experience • Some college and remote work experience • Great at business casual email and phone etiquette • Quick learner of new software • A Plus if experienced in: Microsoft Teams and 365, Google Suite, and Smartsheet Salary: $26 - $28 per hour Benefits: • No nights, or weekends • Sick Leave • Vacation • Paid Holidays • Retirement with matching Schedule: • Regular Business Hours • Monday – Thursday • An occasional Friday is possible.
