POSITION SPECIFICS
The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure line teaching position in the undergraduate program at our Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center location.
As one of the most comprehensive nursing colleges among public universities nationwide, the Nese College of Nursing serves over 2,100 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. Our global footprint enables faculty to create impactful, transformative experiences for students around the world.
This is a 36-week, full-time appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with excellent potential for renewal. The position includes full benefits, with an anticipated start date as early as August 2026.
Primary Responsibilities
• Teach in the undergraduate nursing program during the fall and spring semesters
• Provide clinical instruction in medical-surgical nursing
• Advise students, participate in college and university committees, and engage in service and scholarship as appropriate
Qualifications
• At least one graduate degree in nursing is required
• Doctoral preparation (e.g., DNP, PhD) is preferred
• Candidates with a doctorate will be considered for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or higher, depending on credentials
• Candidates with a master's degree in nursing will be hired at the rank of Instructor and are required to obtain a doctorate within five years of hire
• Must hold a valid RN license and be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania
• Evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and subject matter expertise is required
