About the position As a Centralized Auto Services Claims Processor at The Hartford, you will play a crucial role in our dynamic claims team, dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers during their times of need. You will be responsible for resolving assigned claims efficiently and effectively, utilizing your problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities to interpret insurance contracts and evaluate exposures for setting reserves. Your role will involve completing state-mandated forms and letters accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will need to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering outstanding customer service. You will work collaboratively within a team, communicating with various levels of leadership throughout the organization. Your ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers will be essential, as you demonstrate honesty, integrity, courtesy, and respect in all interactions. This position requires a strong decision-making ability, as you will be expected to make independent judgments while processing claims. As part of your employment, you will be required to obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims, with training and costs covered by the company. Responsibilities • Work directly with customers to successfully resolve assigned claims. , • Communicate and collaborate within a team environment and with various levels of leadership throughout the department and organization. , • Complete state-mandated forms or letters timely and accurately to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. , • Administer claim benefits through interpretation and analysis of the insurance contract and evaluating exposures for setting reserves. Requirements • Minimum 1+ years experience in a customer service environment, with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service. , • Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume position. , • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. , • Ability to make independent decisions while working in a collaborative team environment. , • Experience in a heavy phone volume environment, with the ability to gather and process information quickly. , • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, demonstrating honesty, integrity, courtesy, and respect. , • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for effective decision making. , • Obtain and maintain P&C licensing to handle claims in required states, with training provided by Hartford. , • Knowledge of and proficiency with MS Office. , • High School Diploma/GED is required; college degree preferred. Nice-to-haves • Experience in the insurance industry. , • Familiarity with claims processing systems and software.
