About the Job
In this exciting role, you will be working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth data analysis and interpretation, designing complex drawings and streams, and contributing to critical accounting research and design requirements. You will be the go-to expert for accounting partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of liabilities and driving key framework initiatives and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements
- Develop and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles
- Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
- Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements design, ad-hoc investigations, new product launches, etc.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team
- Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger
- Cross-collaborate with partnering teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
- Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
- Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
- Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with data engineering and accounting domains
- Knowledge of revenue subledger and accounting requirements design
- Experience with ad-hoc investigations and new product launches
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
