Job Overview

As a Data Entry Technician at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our data. Your primary responsibilities will include entering data into our computer or database systems with precision and speed, reviewing discrepancies, and performing data verification routines according to established procedures and deadlines. Additionally, you will produce reports and printouts as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of our data management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter data into computer or database systems with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review discrepancies in received data, request clarification when necessary, and advise supervisors of any issues related to data integrity.
  • Perform data verification routines to ensure the accuracy of entered data, adhering to established procedures and deadlines.
  • Produce reports and printouts as required, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of database software and word processing tools to optimize data entry processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet specific education and experience requirements, which vary by level:

Data Entry Technician I:

  • Education Requirement: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience Requirement: One (1) year of data entry experience.

Data Entry Technician II:

  • Education Requirement: One year certificate from college or technical school; or one and one-half years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of data entry experience.

Data Entry Technician III:

  • Education Requirement: One year certificate from college or technical school; or one and one-half years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of data entry experience.

Computer Skills and Certifications:

You should have knowledge of database software and word processing software. For certain roles, especially those involving food distribution or specific medical coding, additional certifications or licenses may be required, such as a valid driver's license or completion of a data entry course, medical terminology, and/or ICD-9 Coding.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Beyond technical skills, you must have the ability to operate a computer and other general office equipment efficiently. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. You must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or listed on any exclusion lists.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role involves regular sitting and use of hands for typing and handling objects. You will frequently need to talk or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is required. The work environment has a moderate noise level, and you will need close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
