About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Healthcare Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a remote worker, you will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, providing top-notch support to our clients and their customers. Your primary responsibility will be to answer inbound calls in both English and Spanish, addressing questions and concerns regarding healthcare benefits, pre-authorizations, copayments, and prescription plan coverage. You will be the face of our company, and your exceptional communication skills, empathy, and willingness to help others will make a significant difference in the lives of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls in both English and Spanish from US customers and address questions and concerns regarding their healthcare benefits
- Actively listen to customers to understand their concerns and build a rapport that will make them feel heard and cared for
- Provide essential information to members regarding access to care issues, benefits, proof of coverage, member handbook, and other relevant topics
- Guide callers through troubleshooting, navigating self-service options, and using products or services
- Utilize client-specific knowledge systems to research and review multiple documents to better serve the customer while keeping the customer engaged
- Follow instructions provided through documented processes and procedures to ensure all compliance is met for government audits
- Empathize and resolve concerns to simplify the customer's healthcare experience
- Navigate through multiple computer applications with speed and accuracy
- Adapt to learn new call types when business needs change and flex support in those areas
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 18+ years and a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a health plan call center agent (member service, provider service, pharmacy plan member service)
- Medicare and/or Medicaid experience would be a plus
- Exceptional customer service, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills
- High computer proficiency and navigation of multiple applications
- Willing to work any shift between 10:00am-1:00am 7 days a week Eastern standard time + holidays and weekends (on holidays, extend hours 24/7 to small staff)
- Professional positive attitude and courteous telephone etiquette
- Customer-focused personality and a desire to help people
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a remote or virtual environment
- Knowledge of healthcare benefits, pre-authorizations, copayments, and prescription plan coverage
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other technology platforms
- Certifications or training in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
