Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled CPC Processor I Customer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our customer support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of release of information account issues with internal and external customers while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This is a full-time remote role, working Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 7:30pm, and requires a strong ability to work in a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and conduct business on the telephone while maintaining excellent customer service, responding to 100% of release of information related telephone calls and inquiries accurately and timely.
  • Process medical record requests by taking calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide medical record status updates.
  • Document information in multiple platforms using two computer monitors, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review, research, resolve, and respond to inquiries received via telephone, email, or written correspondence, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Follow all department and site-specific processes and procedures, meeting and maintaining the department's productivity and quality assurance expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality by keeping all information seen and heard within the boundaries of the role in the strictest confidence.
  • Perform work in accordance with the training and direction provided, adhering to facility-specific procedures and attending mandatory employee in-service meetings and/or training sessions as directed.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institute recognized by the State Department of Education.
  • Friendly, professional manner of communication with good customer service skills.
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems is required, along with computer proficiency in MS-Office at an intermediate/advanced level.
  • One year of experience in data entry, medical records, healthcare, insurance claims processing, or proofreading/editing of documents is beneficial.
  • Ability to stay organized while working quickly, with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Passing annual Introductory HIPAA examination and completing a 90-day ROI Certification course with a score of 85% or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a healthcare or medical records environment.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including:
