About the Role: Nursing Instructor - Substitute Faculty As a Nursing Instructor - Substitute Faculty at Concorde Career Colleges, you will play a vital role in delivering our nursing programs with excellence. This position involves teaching in various settings, including classrooms, labs, clinical environments, and online platforms. You will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, professional growth, and student satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Duties: Teach classes as assigned, ensuring coverage of the curriculum and meeting learning objectives. Prepare for classes by organizing and familiarizing yourself with student materials and resources. Develop and implement lesson plans and course materials as required. Assess student performance objectively and provide constructive feedback. Utilize instructional plans and approved student materials effectively. Supplement course materials as necessary to enhance learning. Ensure the security of assessment tools and confidential documentation. Monitor and effectively utilize learning management systems. Student Interaction: Maintain a conducive learning environment that promotes engagement and respect. Serve as a role model for professionalism and conduct. Provide regular feedback to students on their academic performance, grades, and professional conduct. Identify and address student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns proactively. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance. Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed. Refer students to the Program Director or Academic Dean for additional support when necessary. Related Duties Outside the Classroom: Participate in ongoing faculty development activities and professional growth opportunities. Attend staff meetings, faculty meetings, and orientations as scheduled. Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies and other campus events. Engage in student and campus activities to foster a positive campus culture. Maintain classrooms and equipment in good order. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Academic Dean. Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with a clinical component. An active and unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in the state of Missouri. A minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience. Never having been disciplined in any jurisdiction. Meeting all regulatory and corporate qualifications. Preferred Qualifications: While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly preferred: A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
