About the Role

This is a remote position that offers a flexible, hybrid arrangement, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while being part of a dynamic team. As a Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to our patients and clients, handling inbound and outbound calls, resolving issues, and escalating concerns to the next level when necessary. You will also be responsible for performing administrative duties, managing emails, and participating in regular departmental meetings to provide feedback and contribute to process improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients and clients, listening empathetically and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Use computer systems to navigate screens, notate interactions, and effectuate a positive patient experience
  • Perform administrative duties, including managing emails, completing assignments, and other tasks as required
  • Actively participate in regular departmental meetings, facility town halls, and individual meetings to provide feedback and contribute to customer service operations and process improvement strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide support to patients and clients
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and company policies to ensure exceptional customer service and support

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a computer and use various software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, analytical, and a creative problem solver
  • Proven track record of being positive, solution-oriented, and having a great sense of humor
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
  • Must have reliable, consistent transportation (note: this may not be applicable for remote work)
  • Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous medical office experience, including working knowledge of revenue cycle, medical terminology, and insurance claim filing experience
  • Billing or other revenue cycle certifications
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a healthcare or medical environment
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, laws, and standards
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
