As a Data Center Technician at blithequark, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. Job Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, servicing, and maintaining blithequark's IT infrastructure in a 24/7 environment with rapidly moving priorities while maintaining high availability of the infrastructure
  • Working with physical IT infrastructure components, including servers, network devices, and storage systems
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools and firmware updates
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and resolve complex technical issues
  • Creating and updating technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulatory requirements, OSHA, EHS, and other similar programs
  • Working with heavy-load motion devices, such as pallet jacks and chassis lifts, and performing tasks that require physical effort, including lifting, walking, and working at heights

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience supporting IT devices or related IT experience
  • A working understanding of physical IT infrastructure components
  • Experience working with macOS, Windows, Linux, and other operating systems
  • Experience running diagnostics, firmware updates, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Experience working with network protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with Linux command line scripting and network troubleshooting tools
  • Experience using cable analyzers, smart network testers, and OTDRs
  • Experience working with incident/change request applications and network and data center planning tools
  • Ability to engage with internal clients and vendors, and create and update technical documentation
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

In terms of education and experience, we're looking for:

  • A minimum of 3-6 years of associated experience in a data center or IT environment
  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Preferred technical certifications, such as BICSI Installer I, Server+, Linux+, Network+, ITIL, or equivalent
  • Linux/Unix certification or related experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly moving priorities
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to create and update technical documentation
