Summary: The contribution of a Scribe-X medical scribe is crucial in the patient care team. They work hand-in-hand with healthcare providers across several specialties to document patient encounters in real-time, catering to patients from varying socio-economic backgrounds to improve access to care for those who need it most. All scribes undergo a rigorous medical scribe training to ensure they are fully prepared to support their designated provider(s). All scribes gain the experience, mentorship, and support needed to become expert medical scribes to further their healthcare career. Essential Duties: • Perform chart preparation per clinic protocol • Accompany the provider in all scheduled patient visits • Document the patient history, physical exam, procedures, and patient plan, as performed by the provider • Remind provider of relevant quality metrics when appropriate, documenting to support quality metrics • Enter laboratory and radiographic studies, as ordered by the provider • Enter medication orders, as dictated by the provider • Document and print instructions for the patient • Review completed charts with the provider between patients or at the completion of the shift • Update provider preference and clinic preference documents as necessary Requirements: • Typing speed of at least 60+ WPM • Available to work 30-40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm PST) • Must have a HIPAA compliant workspace to maintain the privacy of sensitive patient information • Fluent in the English language with excellent writing and speaking skills Education/Experience: • Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years equivalent experience in a related field required • Pre-health career track strongly preferred • GPA > 3.5 preferred • Highly knowledgeable with medical terminology, and human anatomy Compensation/Benefits: • Competitive compensation ranges from $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on location, experience, and time commitment. • An additional $1.00 per hour will be paid to qualifying candidates fluent in more than one language. • Paid training for up to 30.5 hours. • 401K program eligible after 12 months • Paid time off on an accrual basis • Employee Wellness Program • Up to $150/month reimbursement for a healthcare plan Unlock Your Rewards Today! • Gain patient contact hours • Opportunity to receive a letter of recommendation from providers • GRE/MCAT test prep material and test reimbursement. • Guaranteed professional school interviews with Scribe-X University partners.
