As an accountant II on the Global Consolidations team, you will assist with consolidating the financial results for all Starbucks entities, including monitoring intercompany activities. You will also support the accounting close process, including running reports, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and quarterly analyses to support the financial filings and earnings release.
Responsibilities
• Monitor intercompany activities, including investments in subsidiaries and common stock, A/R and A/P, and royalty and license fees.
• Perform monthly/quarterly close and reporting tasks and prepare documents to support SEC filings.
• Train and support the Rotational Development Partners (RDPs) who rotate through the team.
• Work on cross-functional initiatives that impact legal entities across the globe.
Requirements
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Attention to detail.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Ability to interact effectively at various levels of the organization.
• Experience with computerized general ledger systems (e.g. Oracle or other ERP).
• Ability to prioritize and document work performed.
• Intermediate level analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years general accounting at professional level, including journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting.
