Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our Payments and Digital Strategy crew, you'll be responsible for everyday features related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers at blithequark Credit Union. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data entry and balancing features
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assist different departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Work member cases/sports assigned
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
  • Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
  • Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
  • Communicate with the vendor to process fund transfers
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws
  • Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
  • Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department
  • Ability to engage professionally with all personnel and members
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
