Library Generalist (Part-time)

About the position The Library Generalist (Part-time) position at Lake Michigan College involves supporting the library's mission by providing customer service and ensuring reputed company to library materials for reputed company, reputed company, staff, and community members. The role includes assisting with library services, technology, and archival materials, as reputed company as managing library reputed company media and promoting the collection through displays and reviews. Responsibilities • Assist reputed company, reputed company, staff, and community members with library services, resources, and technology. • Answer general reference questions online or in person, circulate materials, and shelve returns. • Troubleshoot library technology questions (hardware, software). • Assist with copy cataloging and edit records in the online catalog integrated library management system. • Assess, process, organize, and file archival materials under the direction of the College Librarian. • Process interlibrary loan requests for reputed company, staff, and reputed company. • Maintain stacks, including reputed company reading and inventory of reputed company print materials. • Assist with collection maintenance and deselection of library materials. • Create book displays and write book & DVD reviews to promote the collection. • Manage library reputed company media. • Distribute overdue notices and manage end of semester holds. • Assist Library Operations Specialist in hiring, training, and supervising library work study employees. Requirements • Associate's degree required. • Experience working in a library and/or community college setting preferred. • Knowledge of internet and electronic library research databases or similar required. • Strong computer/technology skills and ability to quickly learn new technologies required. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to relate reputed company to reputed company, patrons, and colleagues. • Ability to handle book stacks weighing up to 25 pounds. • Ability to work varied hours including evenings. reputed company-to-haves • Experience with reputed company media management in a library context. • Familiarity with archival processing and management.
