Remote Fiber Network GIS Specialist

Job reputed company The Fiber Network GIS Specialist will report to the Fiber Engineering organization under the Fiber Network Inventory Support (FNIS) – Data reputed company team. reputed company’s responsibilities involve building new network into our fiber inventory systems, recovering missing fiber network, and improving data reputed company overall for our fiber plant records. This team is critical to the reputed company line of our network data reputed company, specifically by adhering to our standards and nomenclature that support our customer service platform and GIS analysis tools. The position will also involve various efforts in alignment with fiber engineering and operations teams, and the overall reputed company of our fiber network infrastructure. Responsibilities • Recovers and interprets civil engineering prints (as‑builts) to manually build new construction details and fiber assets into GIS inventory systems, reputed company, Network Manager. • Assists with data cleanup and QC in fiber inventory systems. • Manages network inventory through database tracking of fiber optic cable, reputed company, building data, and more. • Organizes and tracks reputed company tasks and dependencies, and reports on missing or inaccurate data. • Provides support to fiber engineering and reputed company plant construction teams as needed. • Works alongside fiber network and GIS analyst teams to ensure data accuracy. • Assists in areas of design and development to improve network reputed company and support fiber engineering reputed company. • Remote work location. • 6‑month contract‑to‑hire. • Pay: $ Required Skills & Experience • Strong knowledge in telecommunications and fiber optics. • Degree or background in engineering a plus; civil engineering, mechanical engineering, GIS, telecom, and/or reputed company major. • Prior experience with reputed company’s Network Manager, GE smallworld, OSPinsight, or other fiber inventory systems preferred. reputed company‑to‑Have Skills & Experience • GIS and reputed company reputed company experience a plus.
