Regional Crop Imaging & Data Technician
General objective of the role
The Regional Data Technician is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with
horticultural producers and various local farmers (family and professional network) and
assessing whether their land has products to photograph and obtain permits to do so. A
data technician will need to produce high quality images of desired crops and document
their evolution in the field. This person will work outdoors and ensure regular monitoring
of crops in their geographical area.
Reporting lines and interactions
This role will report to the Crop Care Manager. Internally, close collaboration with other
members of the pre- and after-sales team and other teams of Ecorobotix Inc. is required.
Externally, interaction with dealers, farmers, partners, associations, trade shows,
Agronomist and CCA’s among others is required.
Key Responsibilities
• Become the product specialist of your region for the ARA
• Provide dealer and end user training in the agronomic use of our machines.
• Participate in the development of the agronomic training program.
• Lead presentations during agronomy demonstrations and provide agronomic support
for demonstrations.
• Provide customer support and assist in sales/service support.
• Follow-up on machine testing pilot projects: training, test monitoring, and site visits.
Advise on the collection and analysis of data results.
• Assist with the analysis of future crops to be developed, formalization of market returns
and assisting in planning.
• 50% required travel within given territory with occasional travel outside given territory.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Crop and Soil Sciences: Agronomy.
• Consideration taken for an Agricultural CCA.
• Two or more years of proven experience in agriculture crop and soil health.
• Have a strong knowledge or interest in horticultural and agricultural plants in general.
• Have a network of contacts in the agricultural and horticultural sector of your region.
• Knowledge of IT tools (tablets with internal software, smartphones) to manage
communications and necessary data.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must have a passport for international travel.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
Experience / Skills
• Knowledge of arable farming techniques (knowledge of weeds, weeding methods,
different herbicide active ingredients, cultivation techniques, machinery, and the work
of the producer in general).
• Knowledge of agricultural robotics and new technologies.
• High degree of independence, reliability, and initiative.
• Strong team spirit with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and structured approach to work with the ability to adapt quickly to changes.
• Dedicated person with systematic, goal-oriented working methods.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with clear & consistent communication.
• Computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Sensitive to environmental issues and green technologies with a strong interest in
innovative machines.
