Power BI & Data Specialist

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced data professional with a deep understanding of the insurance industry and a proven track record in Power BI development to join our team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring data insights are effectively communicated to users, and contributing to data analysis and integration tasks within our Agile framework. Key Responsibilities: • Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and visualizations, to meet business requirements. • Data Modeling & Transformations: Design and implement data models and transformations in Power Query and Power Pivot to prepare data for reporting and analysis. • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, and APIs, into Power BI. • Dashboard Design: Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards that effectively communicate complex data insights. • Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI solutions for performance and scalability. • Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, generating actionable insights that support business objectives. • Data Storytelling: Effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear and concise presentations and reports. • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Power Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. • Insurance Domain Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the insurance industry, its nuances, and key performance indicators. Qualifications: • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Power BI development, ideally with experience in the insurance industry. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including data modeling, data visualization, and report design. • Data Integration: Experience integrating data from various sources, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, and APIs. • Performance Optimization: Understanding of performance optimization techniques for Power BI solutions. • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Experience with Looker and Sigma. • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Insurance Domain Knowledge: A deep understanding of the insurance industry, its regulations, and key performance indicators. Desired Skills (Not Required): • Machine Learning & AI: Basic knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application to data analysis. • Agile Methodology: Experience with Agile development methodologies. • ELT Expertise: Solid understanding of ELT processes and experience with DBT Cloud.
