Digital Strategy Director
Job Description:
• Establishes the agency as a trusted strategic partner by leading day-to-day client strategy, relationship management, and strategic counsel.
• Leads the development of omnichannel strategies that align brand objectives with audience needs and channel best practices, forming the foundation for measurable engagement.
• Acts as a strategic consultant, guiding clients in leveraging data, insights, and analytics to design, activate, and scale customer-centric marketing programs.
• Supports the Account team in understanding client goals and offerings, helping shape marketing direction through innovative, insight-driven solutions.
• Translates strategic insights into actionable campaign roadmaps, leading tactical planning and ongoing optimization to ensure cohesive execution.
• Facilitates workshops, client meetings, and presentations to shape strategic direction, communicate recommendations, and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Communicates and defends strategic recommendations clearly and persuasively to clients, ensuring buy-in and understanding at all levels.
• Applies expertise in omnichannel engagement planning—including journey mapping, segmentation, content strategy, and channel orchestration—to inform experience design.
• Partners with CXOE, technology, and analytics teams to guide or support implementation of CRM, marketing automation, and personalization platforms that enable scalable, data-driven engagement.
• Identifies opportunities to expand agency capabilities within client accounts, driving organic growth and contributing to revenue goals through cross-sell strategies.
• Secures new strategic initiatives by contributing to and delivering compelling business proposals and pitch presentations.
• Collaborates with internal teams to develop single-minded strategies, creative briefs, and supporting materials rooted in discovery and research.
• Develops strategy decks and other deliverables that translate client needs and insights into clear, actionable plans.
• Stays current on evolving platforms, modern marketing trends, and implications for client strategies.
• Provides guidance, when appropriate, to internal teams based on the strategy, brief, and knowledge of the client and its industry.
• Collaborate with brand strategy, account, creative, content, analytics, CXOE, and technology teams to ensure cohesive and impactful strategy execution.
• Proactively foster team cohesion and collaboration across the agency.
• Demonstrates success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong internal and external relationships.
• Manage and mentor other team members, responsible for goal setting, performance management, career growth, etc.
• Recognizes staff potential and guides employees in identifying challenging and stretching tasks based on interests and organizational needs to achieve career goals.
• Monitors the progress of direct reports and stays involved with their development by being a good source of feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
Requirements:
• 8–10 years of experience in omnichannel engagement strategy, customer experience, or digital marketing within pharma, med-tech, or life sciences, ideally with experience at a healthcare agency serving as Agency of Record (AOR) or within a biopharma organization.
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams, providing strategic direction, and fostering a collaborative environment
• Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding client needs, and delivering strategic initiatives that exceed expectations
• Experience driving thought leadership in strategic planning and data-driven marketing approaches for life science or healthcare clients
• Ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities to expand strategic services to clients
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic engagement programs in the healthcare and life sciences sectors to raise the visibility of brands, products, technologies, and client thought leaders
• Experience with client-facing presence and interaction with C-Suite level
