Experienced Graphic & Web Designer with SEO and Email Marketing Skills Needed

We’re a fiction publishing company seeking a versatile and highly skilled Graphic & Website Designer who can bring creativity, precision, and technical expertise to a wide range of client projects. This is a contractor position, paid hourly or per project, depending on scope. You’ll be joining a growing team that manages a large and diverse pool of clients, requiring adaptability, strong communication, and consistent high-quality work across multiple brands and platforms. About the Role: You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining visually stunning, conversion-optimized websites and digital materials that align with each author or brand’s unique identity. You’ll also assist with email marketing backend support, including coding, template design, automation setup, landing page creation, and list management. This position requires both creative design ability and strong technical proficiency, including internal SEO optimization to ensure every site and page performs effectively in search engines. Key Responsibilities: - Website Design & Development - Design and build responsive, SEO-optimized websites for multiple clients using Shopify, - WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Gelato, and custom-built frameworks. -Implement on-page and internal SEO best practices, including meta optimization, image compression, keyword structure, and site architecture. - Manage both front-end and back-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and modern frameworks. - Integrate third-party tools (payment gateways, CRMs, analytics, and marketing integrations). - Conduct site maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting for performance optimization. Graphic Design: - Create cohesive, professional, and branded visual assets including web banners, promotional graphics, and marketing visuals. - Ensure consistency across all digital materials while maintaining alignment with each client’s individual brand identity. Email Marketing & Technical Support: - Design and code custom HTML email templates for platforms such as MailerLite, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, and ConvertKit. - Build and test responsive landing pages and automation workflows to drive conversions. - Manage email list migration, cleanup, tagging, and segmentation to maintain database integrity and performance. - Troubleshoot rendering issues and ensure compatibility across devices and email clients. Qualifications: - Proven experience in web design and full-stack web development. - Advanced understanding of on-page SEO and internal optimization (meta structure, schema markup, site speed, and indexability). - Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and relevant CMS systems. - Strong grasp of UI/UX design principles and mobile-first responsive layouts. - Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or Canva Pro. - Experience with email marketing tools and HTML/CSS for email design. - Familiarity with API integrations, DNS configuration, and hosting environments. - Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple client projects efficiently.
