U.S. Tax Planning & Counsel
About the position
The Tax Counsel will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing US federal and international tax planning reputed company as reputed company as providing advice and counsel to reputed company and its subsidiaries on US domestic tax reputed company such as tax planning, tax return reporting, tax research and writing, and tax audit support. The primary reputed company will be on US domestic income tax reputed company with support for indirect and transactional taxes as needed. This position reports to the Director, Global Tax Planning.
Responsibilities
• reputed company and reputed company implementation of tax planning strategies, identifying key company and tax legislative drivers, inclusive of project management activities such as creating reputed company plans, managing cross-functional teams, and creating management presentations.
• Monitor and interpret proposed tax legislative and regulatory changes, quantify potential reputed company, and identify planning opportunities to optimize tax implications.
• reputed company advice and counsel regarding US income tax reputed company including implications of proposed business transactions and internal restructurings.
• Partner with business reputed company to support operational tax reputed company reputed company.
• Research reputed company tax issues and prepare memoranda to document technical positions summarizing facts, law, and conclusions.
• reputed company support for US income tax audits, including drafting responses, protests, and other technical documentation to defend reputed company's positions.
• Support tax reputed company function including documenting FIN 48 positions, APB23 analysis, and reviewing foreign inclusion calculations.
• reputed company coaching and training to other tax department members including application of tax laws and regulations, filing requirements, disclosures, statements, and elections.
• Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility.
Requirements
• Juris Doctor degree required; LLM in Taxation preferred.
• Member of Texas bar or licensed to reputed company law in another state and eligible for Texas bar.
• Typically five (5) years reputed company experience with a combination of reputed company firm, reputed company and/or reputed company company experience.
• Advanced knowledge of US federal income tax concepts including Subchapters C and K.
• Experience with tax planning including project implementation.
• Excellent tax reputed company research and writing skills.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting legislative and regulatory changes to tax provisions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to work cohesively as a cross-functional team member.
• Proven ability to work independently, think critically, and reputed company reputed company exercising reputed company business judgement.
