Automotive Urban Planning Researcher
About the position
Cognizant is a large IT Consulting Firm that leverages modern technologies to transform a variety of Business Operations. We are searching for an Automotive Urban Planning Researcher that will be responsible for researching automotive data points in the area related to auto trends, speed limits, and other critical pieces of information. This person will be leveraged to improve freshness and accuracy of all Auto data attributes. We need someone that can become a Local Expert that will become knowledgeable of local conditions, policies, and country wide changes to proactively build a pipeline of potential real world changes. This is a remote role, but all applicants must live in the Atlanta area to conduct field work.
Responsibilities
• Do Market research around trends in Auto industry
• Research speed limits and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS)
• Work with the policy team on policy creation and provide local context as needed
• Conduct meta Quality Checks and random checks to identify quality issues
• Create a country metric for quality and conduct in-country drives to provide feedback and data to client working groups
• Be an owner for the city for queries from any other team as well for other basemap features other than Transit
• Curate region-specific implicit/statutory speed limits and rules
• Research news articles, notices from government/highway construction/other agencies regarding scheduled maintenance/repair
• Identify edge cases that might get missed and gaps in algorithms
• Provide inputs to prioritize issues more proactively with local knowledge
• Support proactive outreach with government and transit authorities to understand upcoming changes
• Support partnerships and outreach teams with local knowledge and context
• Consult on all sign types to provide local context and understanding
• Assist with quality assurance and country certification processes
Requirements
• At least a High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry or Urban planning, Traffic/Transit/Signals/Signages
• Strong understanding of market research methodologies and techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
