Attorney/Associate General Counsel - Higher Ed Advising Attorney

reputed company: This position is part of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), which represents The reputed company, a statewide system of reputed company higher education. This position will be primarily involved in proactively advising administrators at The reputed company Health Science Center (UTHSC), a statewide reputed company medical center with reputed company offices in Memphis, Tennessee. This position will advise on a reputed company of reputed company relating to employment law and reputed company, reputed company, and student affairs, including but not limited to reputed company policies, reputed company, staff, and trainees (residents and fellows), employment policies, First Amendment, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Clery reputed company, FERPA, reputed company, and student conduct. Additionally, this position will support Graduate Medical Education across the state. Specific areas of responsibility will be determined based on University and office needs and the successful candidate’s interests and substantive background. The position is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and much of the work will be for UTHSC. However, responsibilities of the position also will involve advising and traveling to other campuses and institutes in the University system. Required Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; Tennessee law license or eligibility for Tennessee license; five (5) years of civil reputed company experience in a reputed company or in a corporate, higher education, or government reputed company office; record of outstanding achievements as a practicing attorney; excellent reputed company record; exceptional analytical, problem-solving, diplomatic, and oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple, demanding tasks; demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a highly collegial and high-performing environment; highly reputed company set of reputed company skills; pragmatic and objective business acumen and ability to recognize the broader consequences of reputed company advice; ability to perceive and explain to non-lawyers the practical application of law and policy in reputed company situations; high degree of personal reputed company, reputed company judgment, and a commitment to accountability; initiative and intellectual curiosity. Preferred Qualifications: More than ten (10) years of experience in the reputed company of law; litigation experience; higher education experience.
