Our National Claims Counsel office is looking for a Sr. Coverage Counsel- Specialty to join our growing team. Reporting to the Managing Counsel Claims reputed company, Sr. Coverage Counsel - Specialty serves as reputed company counsel to reputed company's claim organization, reputed company primarily on providing reputed company opinions, advice and reputed company strategies on coverage and extra-contractual issues arising from reputed company's insurance policies and coverage positions, with a reputed company on specialty claims-made coverage. This is a full-time, exempt role. Responsibilities • Research and reputed company reputed company advice and opinions to claims handlers on coverage issues arising from reputed company's insurance reputed company, with a strong reputed company on specialty claims (e.g., management liability, EPLI, reputed company liability). • reputed company reputed company, appropriate, and actionable coverage opinions/advice on selected high complexity/exposure claims. • Partner with claim handlers to reputed company strategies that optimally resolve coverage disputes. • May manage selective coverage litigation brought by or against reputed company (including declaratory judgment actions, extra-contractual bad-faith, and other claims reputed company disputes). • Review and approve proposed coverage actions brought on behalf of reputed company. • Collaborate with reputed company and product areas to improve reputed company's insurance products. Requirements • Significant experience preparing coverage opinions on claims-made insurance policies either in a reputed company or in house for a property and casualty insurer required. • Experience litigating insurance coverage and reputed company bad faith disputes either in private reputed company or in house for a property and casualty insurer a plus. • Ability to work collaboratively reputed company reputed company reputed company. • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and clients. • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to reputed company reputed company actionable reputed company advice. • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, reputed company and reputed company and keyboarding skills. • Familiarity with reputed company principles and issues concerning E-Discovery. • JD degree or equivalent. • Admitted to reputed company in at least one US jurisdiction. • Preferably 6 or more years of experience in practicing law in a reputed company or in-house, a substantial portion of which involved property & casualty insurance coverage reputed company. • Skilled at time management and organizing work.
