Planner, Pricing Strategist
About the position
Responsibilities
• Market Analysis:
• Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities and threats that would impact pricing decisions.
• Monitor competitors' pricing strategies and promotional activities to understand their positioning in the market, provide insights on those pricing dynamics, and recommend appropriate responses to maintain a competitive edge.
• Conduct in-depth market research, both internally and externally, to gather insights on customer preferences, pricing sensitivity, and buying behavior.
• Cost Analysis:
• Evaluate the cost structure of products, including production, distribution, marketing, damages, and all associated selling expenses, to ensure bottom-line pricing aligns with profit margin goals.
• Pricing Strategy Development:
• Develop and recommend pricing strategies for all sales channels that consider factors such as product uniqueness, target customer, and overall value proposition.
• Propose tiered pricing, bundling, or other promotional strategies to cater to different customer segments and maximize overall revenue.
• Price Optimization, Testing, and Implementation:
• Work closely with the various teams to ensure smooth implementation of new pricing strategies.
• Analyze historical sales data and pricing information to identify patterns and correlations that guide pricing adjustments.
• Utilize pricing models and software tools to simulate and forecast the impact of various pricing scenarios on revenue and profitability.
• Design and execute price tests to evaluate the impact of pricing changes on customer behavior and financial outcomes.
• Monitor the results of implemented pricing strategies and iterate based on performance feedback.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Gather and analyze data from various sources to generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into pricing performance and effectiveness.
• Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and actionable manner.
• Recommend peripheral pricing software to utilize and integrate with our existing systems for streamlined and improved pricing functionality across our omni-channel platform.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in similar analytical and planning roles in omni-channel within the consumer product goods industry
• Proficiency in pricing, data analysis, and statistical tools, as well as market trends
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in pricing calculations
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
Nice-to-haves
• Microsoft PBI, Tableau, and/or SQL knowledge is a plus, but not required
