Remote CA | Litigation Associate – Insurance & Financial Services (3–5 Years)
A respected California law firm is seeking a high-performing Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its expanding Insurance & Financial Services Litigation practice. This role offers full remote flexibility anywhere in California and the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-impact matters with supportive partners and a strong litigation team.
This practice handles complex cases involving ERISA, disability, life, health, long-term care, fraud, and employer-plan benefits — making it an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking deep exposure to financial and insurance-related litigation.
What You’ll Do
You will take on meaningful case responsibility from day one, including:
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses
• Preparing subpoenas, litigation documents, and analytical memoranda
• Reviewing and assessing factual and legal components of claims
• Engaging with in-house teams, experts, TPAs, opposing counsel, and witnesses
• Taking and defending depositions
• Supporting trial and arbitration preparation: motions in limine, jury instructions, trial briefs, exhibit lists, and witness prep
What We’re Looking For
• 3–5 years of litigation experience (insurance/ERISA/benefits matters preferred but not required)
• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to collaborate
• Active California Bar membership
• Must live anywhere in California (role is fully remote statewide)
Compensation & Benefits
• $140,000 – $202,000 base salary (DOE)
• Annual performance-based bonuses
• Reasonable billable hours requirement
