Job title: Technical Writer (Biology- Molecular preferred) Location: Remote - must reside in U.S. Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Yearly Compensation: $85,000 - 95,000 Degree required (MS or PhD), preferably Biology, Medical Sciences or Pharmacy or equivalent Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and editing abilities, with a preferred background in Biology/Medical Sciences, and knack for transforming complex technical information into clear and concise documentation. The purpose of the position is the alignment of product positioning with commercial strategy. Proficiency with MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software. It is knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO principles preferred Job Description: 1) Digest technical content into clear product positioning and messaging within the biology workflows of life science (cell culture, protein, molecular, and analytical). 2) Optimize web and paid media content based on our target audience's behaviors. Essential Functions: • Technical writing, copyediting, proofreading and research skills. • A predisposition for science, biology, chemistry or related scientific field as evidenced by work experience or academic background. • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to work in a highly collaborative fashion with scientists as well as non-scientist stakeholders and project partners. • Familiarity with fundamental marketing communications tactics including social media, e-marketing, website copy and other content. EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, pharmacy or equivalent is required. An advanced degree (MS, PhD) is preferred. Social media content marketing experience. Proficiency with MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software. Basic knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO principles preferred. Responsibilities • Develop, write, and edit user manuals, guides, and other technical documentation. • Conduct thorough research to gather information from subject matter experts and existing resources. • Proofread and revise documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. • Utilize word processing software to format documents according to company standards. • Create diagrams and flowcharts using Visio to enhance the understanding of complex processes. • Collaborate with engineering teams and other departments to gather necessary information for documentation. • Maintain an organized repository of documentation for easy access and updates. Requirements • Proven experience in technical writing or a related field. • Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail. • Proficiency in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word). • Familiarity with research techniques to gather relevant information effectively. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Experience with technical writing tools and software such as Visio is a plus. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
