Contract Opportunity at BrightCat Data : Data Engineer(Remote, 6–8 Week Project)

BrightCat Data is a leading Canadian data company trusted by enterprise clients in finance, telecom, and insurance. We're hiring a hands-on Data Engineer / Programmer on a contract basis to help automate and streamline our internal data infrastructure.This project is scoped for delivery over approximately 6-8 weeks, depending on your pace and approach. We're open to milestone-based or time-based billing and value efficient, high-quality work.What You'll Be Working On : Processing structured data files on a weekly cadenceCleaning, merging, and normalizing input from multiple third-party data sourcesBuilding an automated data pipeline using AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions)Loading processed output into SnowflakeDesigning a secure internal dashboard (e.g., Streamlit, Quicksight, or Redash) to : Run ad hoc queriesExport filtered datasetsApply search and segment filtersSupport internal users with role-based accessTracking changes and lifecycle events at the address levelConducting thorough data QA to ensure accuracy across historical and incoming dataYou're a Fit If You : Have strong experience with Python, SQL, and AWS services (especially S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions)Have worked with consumer datasets and address-level data (e.g., real estate, telecom, utilities, insurance, or direct marketing)Can build systems that detect changes and patterns over time in property- or address-level dataHave hands-on experience with ETL development, data QA, and loading into modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)Can work independently or deliver through a small agency setup (must assign one accountable owner)Communicate clearly and document your work for internal useInclude a cover letter that outlines your experience with address-level or consumer datasetsTo Apply : Please send : A brief cover letter that highlights your experience working with address-level or consumer datasetsYour resumeYour proposed rate (monthly, hourly, or milestone-based)A short example of a similar project you've completedConfirmation that you're able to sign an NDA Applications without a cover letter detailing address or consumer data experience will not be reviewed.
