Digital Marketing Strategist / Fractional CMO to Audit Google Ads & Tax Season Campaigns (U.S. Only)

We are looking for a senior-level Digital Marketing Strategist or Fractional CMO to review our performance marketing efforts and provide high-level, strategic recommendations ahead of tax season. You will be responsible for auditing our existing data and campaigns (primarily Google Ads, but also Meta and SEO) and delivering clear, actionable insights that can guide our marketing decisions over the next 3–6 months. Scope of Work 1. Google Ads Audit (Primary Focus) 1.1 Review the last 12 months of Google Ads data (search, display, etc.). 1.2 Evaluate: - Account structure, campaign/ad group organization - Keyword strategy (match types, negatives, search terms) - Ad copy, extensions, and landing page alignment - Bidding strategies and budgets - Conversion tracking accuracy and attribution 1.3 Identify wasted spend, missed opportunities, and key areas for optimization. 1.4 Provide a prioritized list of recommendations for tax season campaigns. 2. Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Campaign Insights 2.1 High-level review of existing or past Meta campaigns. 2.2 Feedback on audience targeting, creative, messaging, and funnel structure. 2.3 Suggestions for how Meta can support our tax-season goals. 3. SEO & Website/Conversion Insights (High Level) 3.1 High-level review of our website/landing pages from a marketing and conversion perspective. 3.2 General SEO insight (no need to execute SEO; focus is on strategic guidance and quick wins). 3.3 Recommendations to align organic strategy with paid campaigns for tax season. 4. Strategic Recommendations & Deliverables 4.1 A written report or slide deck summarizing: - Key findings from all audits - Clear, prioritized action items - Strategy recommendations specific to tax season (offers, messaging, channels, funnel). 4.2 Optional: 1 live strategy call (Zoom/Google Meet) to walk through findings and answer questions. Ideal Candidate - Based in the USA (or with deep experience in U.S. market and tax season behavior). - 3+ years of experience in digital marketing strategy, performance marketing, or as a Fractional CMO. - Proven experience auditing and optimizing Google Ads accounts (B2C or professional services preferred). - Familiar with Meta Ads and able to provide strategic insight (not just tactical setup). - Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and how paid + organic can work together. - Excellent communication skills; able to translate data into clear business recommendations. - Experience working with seasonal or deadline-driven businesses (e.g., tax, accounting, financial services) is a plus. What We Provide - Access to our Google Ads account (last 12 months of data). - Access to any existing Meta campaigns and analytics. - Access to website/landing pages and relevant analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, if applicable). - Context on our current marketing goals and target audience for tax season. Project Type & Timeline - One-time project to start, with the possibility of ongoing advisory work. - We would like the audit and recommendations delivered within 1–2 weeks of project start.
