INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I
Caltrans District 3 is seeking an Information Technology Specialist I to join their Bimodal Support Unit, responsible for supporting technologies such as Power Apps, SharePoint, and Salesforce. The role includes administering Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and overseeing Application Life-cycle Management tools to ensure efficient operations and support for the development team.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipeline integration and Application Life-cycle Management tools in alignment with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Install, configure, and administer SDLC tools including, but not limited to, code repository, version control, requirements management, and application performance monitoring
- Support the development team with resolving complex technical problems
- Establish technical specifications and standards
- Perform complex systems analysis
- Resolve complex technical problems
- Develop system performance standards and engineering architectural solutions
- Work collaboratively with program customers and information technology teams
- Lead or advise IT staff in analyzing and developing systems across all phases of the system development life cycle, including design, development, testing (unit, system integration, regression, and end-user), deployment, and maintenance
- Lead enterprise-scale IT projects that involve cross-functional teams and integrate multiple platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Tableau) with SDLC tools to support business-critical applications
Skills
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required
- Demonstrates hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise platforms such as Tableau, Jira, Salesforce, and ServiceNow; configuring integrations and custom workflows; maintaining system configurations and technical documentation; and supporting SDLC activities including version control, workflow automation, and performance monitoring
- Demonstrates experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, with a strong understanding of automated testing frameworks, deployment strategies, and pipeline performance optimization
- Demonstrates experience analyzing and designing scalable, maintainable software systems, conducting root cause analysis, and applying both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to recommend and implement system improvements
- Exhibits proficiency in preparing written and verbal correspondence, translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences, facilitating requirements sessions, and delivering end-user training and documentation
- Experience supporting multiple high-priority systems initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates ability to coordinate, troubleshoot, and deliver technical solutions under tight deadlines across concurrent projects
