Project Engineer
Forgen is a leading geotechnical and specialty civil construction company operating across North America. The Project Engineer I is an entry-level role that supports both office and field operations by assisting with project planning, coordination, documentation, and execution in alignment with budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of project cost estimates, proposals, and material take-offs
- Perform technical analysis of the remediation methodologies of various previously remediated projects
- Perform other administrative or office duties as required or as assigned
- Travel to project sites as necessary for extended durations
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations
- Preparing project submittals
- Maintaining project record documents
- Perform technical review of contract plans and specifications
- Provide oversight and documentation related to project quality control in accordance with the contract plans, specifications, and company policies and procedures
- Preparing daily construction reports and progress tracking
- Manage, interpret, and perform site surveying
- Assist with the management of subcontractors
- Assist with the procurement or rental of equipment and materials
- Assist Project Manager with project daily cost reporting and tracking
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience in construction or engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management software
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver's license, ability to drive for the company
- Internship or co-op experience in construction or engineering, specifically site surveying, earthwork, In-Situ Stabilization, mechanics of solids (particularly of soils), hydraulics, theory of structure, strength of materials, engineering geology
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and USACE QCS systems
- Experience with site surveying using both conventional and GPS methods
- Assisting in the development of cost estimates and proposals
- Experience with materials procurement and purchasing
