IT Technician
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an IT Technician for their Holmdel, NJ office. The role involves providing exceptional user support, ensuring smooth daily operations, and tackling various hardware and software challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization
- Respond to tickets in accordance with SLA guidelines
- Serve as the first point of contact for helpdesk inquiries
- Record, track, and document the help desk request problem solving process including actions taken through to the final resolution
- Image computers when necessary
- Install and configure hardware and software
- Repair and replace equipment as needed (computers, servers, switches, network devices, UPS)
- Provide onsite and remote support to end users
- Assist with audio and video conferencing systems such as Teams and Logitech setups as needed for meetings
- Set up new workstations for users (deploying equipment, checking over account setups)
- Ability to work in Active Directory
- Create documentation for staff for training purposes
- Solid understanding of computers, networks, software and Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc
- Basic understanding of firewalls
- Previous experience with remote support tools
- Experience using ticketing systems such as Service Now
- Participate in rotating schedule for New Hire training
- Must be able to foster good relationships with the team and organization
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and software
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0-2+ years of experience in desktop support or related field
- Experience IT service management methodologies
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
- Customer service mindset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with computer hardware including servers, switches, network devices, etc
- Familiarity with Microsoft desktop operating systems and applications
- Pro support M365: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Must have the ability to effectively administer troubleshooting procedures
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE preferred
