Taxable Bond Portfolio Analyst
GW&K Investment Management is seeking a Taxable Bond Portfolio Analyst to support portfolio managers and traders in managing fixed income portfolios. This role involves monitoring performance, analyzing risk, and contributing to investment decisions across various taxable bond strategies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze daily portfolio performance and risk exposures (duration, convexity, spread risk) across taxable bond strategies
- Support portfolio managers and traders in implementing trade ideas, including modifying curve positioning and sector exposures
- Monitor portfolios for adherence to client investment guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal risk limits
- Contribute to scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate portfolio positioning relative to market events
- Maintain internal models, dashboards, and databases used for monitoring and analysis
- Prepare quarterly and monthly investment reports, including updated statistics, charts, and market commentary
- Collaborate with marketing and client service teams to provide data for presentations and pitchbooks
- Contribute to automation projects to streamline reporting and analysis using tools such as Python, VBA, or SQL
- Partner with IT and the Enterprise Data and Analytics team to improve data accuracy and accessibility
- Generate custom quantitative analysis and ad hoc support as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros)
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, or similar platforms
- Understanding of fixed income analytics including yield curves, duration, and credit risk
- Team player with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across investment, risk, and operations teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, market-driven environment
- Master's degree in engineering or a quantitative discipline
- Experience with Python, SQL, VBA or R
- CFA charter or progress toward CFA designation
