Designer, Hydraulics
GFT is a privately held AEC firm focused on innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. The Designer will assist in the planning, design, and production of hydraulic and hydrology projects, working under the supervision of a PE while contributing to drainage impact studies and regulatory documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of drainage impact studies
- Helping to prepare drainage construction plans and specifications
- Compiling watershed drainage studies, master plans and engineering reports
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
- Coordinate with other team members and consultants
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Skills
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- EIT license in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in 6 months
- 0-3 years of experience in H & H
- Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Self-motivated and collaborate well with others
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of H&H software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM and ArcGIS)
- Infoworks ICM knowledge is a plus
