Software Tester – Co-op/Intern

Nokia is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Software Tester Co-op/Intern. The role involves developing scripts and applications, executing test plans, investigating defects, and maintaining test beds to ensure product functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Development of scripts or applications (Python, Java, JavaScript) to simulate various management activities and network scenarios on a web-based (browser) platform
  • Development and execution of test plans to validate functional aspects of the product
  • Investigation of product defects encountered during test scenarios
  • Execution of tests and maintenance of regression and performance test beds, including publishing results and developing additional functionality

Skills

  • Currently a candidate for a Master's, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Java, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks (Mocha) as well as web automation components (Selenium, webdriverio, Robot)
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Strong problem-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of software and/or testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, Neo4j, PostgreSQL)
  • Networking and telecommunications knowledge
  • UNIX operating environment (RHEL), Windows, Virtual Machines
  • Knowledge of Routing Protocols (ie, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, RIP), and MPLS is an asset
