Job Overview

The Media Replay Operator I in the Studio Operations team at arenaflex is responsible for coordinating, recording, editing, and playing back server-based content during live and pre-recorded productions, while ensuring that all content meets arenaflex's high standards for video and sound quality. The successful candidate will also be responsible for local media management and naming shows. This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment for a wide variety of studio shows and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned working areas, including but not limited to the association and distribution of all server content used for recording and playback during control room productions.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of editing techniques on instant replay and non-linear systems.
• Measure sound and video signals to ensure quality control of arenaflex's adopted standards on all operations using extensive knowledge of broadcast procedures.
• May train others in operational areas and, if so, is expected to generate training documentation.
• Participate in training programs (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self-career development as well as in regards to any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operation.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of plant signal flow/routing.
• Participate in special event coverage and projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as required to help achieve business objectives.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A minimum of 2 years of practical television production or related experience at the large market or network level.
• Thorough knowledge of all television production equipment and technology within assigned working areas, including but not limited to: video production switchers, server-based recording/playback systems and related control devices, television production switches, audio systems, signal conversion equipment, etc.
• Ability to work late shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Flexibility to adjust shifts/days off and stay at work longer than required to accommodate projects and departmental goals.
• Ability to perform tasks under close deadlines, work independently, and lead simultaneous projects.
• Strong understanding of workflow in other specialty units, including their impact and/or specific integration with Production Operations.
• Organizational, efficiency, and time management skills are required.
• Must be willing and able to adapt to a continually changing environment.
• Candidates should have a good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...) and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to address and troubleshoot using effective communication to best convey any issues requiring resolution.
• Seeks out information regarding the workflow of other specialty units, including their impact or potentially specific integration with Production Operations, and uses that information to enhance processes as well as educate others.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Evident knowledge of Broadcast Communications Equipment.
• Understanding of Remote Event Workflows and Terminology.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to our partners.
• Bilingual (written and spoken) - English/Spanish.

Education

The minimum educational requirement for this role is a High School Diploma or equivalent. However, a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or a related field is preferred. A professional certification or related experience is also an advantage.
