**Experienced Data Engineer – Cloud-Based Data Pipeline Development and Support**

**The Role**
As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues on various projects, including data pipeline development, sustainment, and research initiatives. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, data sets, and workflows that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. Your work will involve:
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, and implement data pipelines and workflows
* Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, and other tools
* Creating and managing data sets, tables, and views to support business analytics and science models
* Delivering high-quality data sets and insights to support business decision-making
* Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues and errors
* Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform our data engineering practices
**The Tools of the Trade**
We're a cloud-first organization, and we use a range of tools to support our data engineering work. You'll have the opportunity to work with:
* SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL)
* Python
* Docker
* GitLab
* Wind stream
* Other cloud-based data engineering tools and technologies
**What We're Looking For**
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
* 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
* Strong skills in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
* Experience working in a multi-cloud environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and with DEVOPS strategies for code organization and development
* Experience creating and maintaining automated job schedulers
* A solid understanding of data modeling and design principles
**What Sets You Apart**
If you have experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar, you'll be well-positioned for success in this role. Additionally, experience with cloud design and product offerings, ideally AWS, and proficiency in using a source control tool like GitLab/GitHub will be a plus.
