Job Summary

This exciting opportunity is for a Customer Service Representative who will play a vital role in identifying and resolving customer issues, answering inquiries, and providing top-notch support to patients and referrals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a high volume of interactions via phone, email, fax, chat, text, and other electronic sources, ensuring that our customers receive accurate and timely information about their orders and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle continuous work volume by interacting with patients and referrals via various communication channels, including inbound and outbound phone calls, email, fax, chat, text, and web inquiries
  • Receive and process order requests from referrals for durable medical equipment and healthcare services, providing accurate information and updates on new orders, resupplies, pickups, and/or exchanges
  • Demonstrate professionalism and provide high-quality service when interacting with patients, caregivers, and/or referrals, resolving patient/referral complaints and escalations with urgency and efficiency
  • Assess patient and referral needs, identify satisfactory resolutions, and provide high-quality customer service, ensuring that all interactions are handled with empathy, compassion, and understanding
  • Comply with and adhere to all regulatory compliance areas, policies, and procedures, as well as best practices, to ensure that we deliver exceptional service to all customers
  • Follow quality program guidelines and procedures for all transactions, performing other duties as required to support the team and drive business success

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 1-3 years of Call Center Experience preferred
  • 1-3 Years of Healthcare and/or Health Insurance Customer Service experience preferred, with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and its regulations
  • Experience working in a remote environment preferred, with the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Professional Designations are not required, but a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service is essential

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess problems and identify solutions quickly and efficiently
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with effective listening, paraphrasing, and summarization abilities
  • Personal accountability and emotional intelligence, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service and resolving issues promptly
  • Time management and reliability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in using a Windows-based computer and familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Language skills: English (reading, writing, verbal), with basic level mathematical proficiency

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations provided to assist or enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position, upon request.

Travel and Remote Work

This is a remote position, which is US-based, and requires individuals to physically reside and work within the United States. Company systems and equipment are monitored for security and other purposes, and removal of Company equipment outside of the United States is not permitted without prior authorization. Occasional travel may be required, depending on business needs.
