Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Manager to supervise and coordinate the daily activities of our inside sales and customer service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for training, directing, and managing our Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate personnel, as well as recommending changes to current inside sales techniques or procedures based on team performance and new selling techniques. Key Responsibilities

  • Train, direct, and manage Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
  • Recommend changes to current inside sales techniques or procedures based on team performance and new selling techniques to continuously improve our sales strategy.
  • Handle complaints or situations that may arise involving pricing, delivery/shipping errors, returns, etc. and resolve these issues in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Place calls to and answer calls from existing and potential customers to solicit business and to follow up on customers' needs, building strong relationships and identifying new sales opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with customers by assisting them at the counter or over the phone, understanding their needs, and learning their buying habits and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions.
  • Process customer orders quickly and efficiently, increasing sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering promotional sale items.
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability, demonstrating a deep understanding of our products and services.
  • Communicate pricing, product updates, deliveries, credit, and payment issues in accordance with standard procedures and customers' profitability profiles, ensuring transparency and clarity in all interactions.
  • Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction, staying up-to-date with the latest product information and industry trends.
  • Proficiently use technologies, including distribution and office software such as Prelude, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, adhering to our high standards of integrity, trust, and professionalism.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, or at least two years of inside sales associate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling techniques, with a proven track record of meeting sales goals and growing sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult customers and situations, remaining calm and professional under pressure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product information, with the ability to learn and stay up-to-date with new products and services.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner, using analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form, with strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Knowledge of outdoor living products and services, with experience in the industry or a related field.
  • Experience with distribution and office software, such as Prelude, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in multiple languages.
  • Military experience or background, with the ability to apply military skills and experience to a civilian role.
