Entry Level Traffic Engineer

VHB is an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers. They are seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join their Transportation Planning & Operations group, where the selected candidate will work on a variety of transportation projects, conducting traffic impact studies, safety studies, and transportation planning analyses.

Responsibilities

• Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
• Traffic impact studies
• Safety studies
• Transportation planning analyses
• Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics
• Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
• Traffic data collection and tabulation
• Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
• Development, analysis and evaluation of traffic improvements
• Roadway and intersection conceptual design

Skills

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
• Ability to think critically
• Strong computer skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required
• EIT preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD a plus
• Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plus
• Experience with ArcGIS a plus
