[Remote] 2026 Global Patient Safety, Specialty TA Intern ( PhD)

As a Global Patient Safety, Specialty Therapeutic Area Intern, you will support the Obesity products under the Global Patient Safety organization, engaging in data analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the TA Head, Group Medical Director, and PST Lead to identify questions, gaps, and opportunities where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other technology solutions can support the Obesity Asset Strategy Team
- Analyze existing clinical and real-world data sources and modelling platforms to refine patient population definitions, assess competitor products, and identify gaps in current obesity treatment and utilization
- Evaluate and summarize safety profiles of approved and investigational obesity products using publicly available safety data to inform strategy and development decisions
- Work across the Clinical Sciences organization (e.g., Epidemiology, Statistical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, and GPS) to discover, evaluate, and align on areas of opportunity for leveraging AI tools and databases, liaising with Obesity team members and leadership to reduce redundancies and streamline data, analytics, and tool use
- Learn and apply GPS processes relevant to clinical development, patient safety, and Obesity franchise deliverables; and
- Contribute to key expedited GPS deliverables for the Obesity team
Skills
- Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PharmD or PhD in pharmacology, life sciences, healthcare, or other related degree
- Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
- Ability to leverage AI and technology solutions to complete safety profile evaluations
- Experience working with real-world data sources and modelling platforms to refine patient population definitions, assess competitor products, and identify gaps in current obesity treatment and utilization
- Ability to summarize complex information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Takes initiative and always looks for improvement opportunities
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
