Radiology Tech Student

The Radiology Tech Student role involves performing imaging procedures under supervision while ensuring patient safety and adhering to regulatory standards, providing hands-on clinical training for students enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program.
Responsibilities
- Performs imaging procedures under supervision, ensuring patient safety and care quality
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders; prepares equipment and selects appropriate imaging parameters
- Follows radiation safety and infection control guidelines
- Assists with patient positioning, shielding, and education before and during procedures
- Monitors and reports patient condition changes; analyzes image quality and routes for radiologist interpretation
- Operates imaging and PACS equipment; reports malfunctions appropriately
- Maintains accurate documentation according to facility standards
- Participates in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and restocking of supplies
- Administers contrast media when ordered and within scope of practice
- Performs additional related duties within scope of practice as assigned
Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program
- Ability to perform imaging procedures under supervision
- Knowledge of patient safety and care quality
- Ability to review patient history and physician's orders
- Ability to prepare equipment and select appropriate imaging parameters
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control guidelines
- Ability to assist with patient positioning, shielding, and education
- Ability to monitor and report patient condition changes
- Ability to analyze image quality and route for radiologist interpretation
- Ability to operate imaging and PACS equipment
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation according to facility standards
- Participation in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and restocking of supplies
- Ability to administer contrast media when ordered and within scope of practice
