Dealer Account Manager
Generac is a company focused on outdoor power equipment solutions, and they are seeking a Dealer Account Manager to manage and grow their dealer relationships. The role involves generating new business opportunities, managing a portfolio of existing dealers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to expand market share.
Responsibilities
- Utilize internal tools and conduct market research to identify market coverage gaps to generate new business opportunities
- Perform outbound cold calls to promote partnerships for Generac and DR Power products
- Manage inbound inquiries from the OPE Territory Manager to facilitate potential partnerships
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers from inbound inquiries, market research, lead generation, and outbound call efforts
- Discuss and review contract paperwork with business owners to finalize dealer agreements
- Create tactical sales plans with short- and long-term objectives for the assigned territory
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and expand market share
- Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and expedite issue resolution
- Work with clients to develop sales and promotional strategies to drive revenue
- Provide product knowledge training and webinars to dealer partners
- Create and present channel-specific programs and promotions to key accounts
- Manage initiatives to identify new sales opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Strengthen relationships with accounts to promote sales of existing and new products
- Execute effective launch plans for newly onboarded dealer accounts
- Facilitate routine communications between customers and cross-functional teams
- Maintain and update a list of potential customer targets regularly
- Stay updated on product offerings and relevant content
- Oversee and resolve order management issues
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, with at least 1 year of inside sales or equivalent experience, or 2 years of inside sales experience in lieu of a degree
- At least 1 year of inside sales or equivalent experience, or 2 years of inside sales experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in sales, account management and business development
- Ability to analyze market data and identify opportunities
- Ability to foster relationships and drive business growth
- Strong negotiation skills and understanding of the complex sales process
- Analytical ability to interpret key business metrics
- Ability and willingness to travel into assigned territory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, including management
- Effective presentation skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field role
- Ability to identify complex problems, gather data, and draw conclusions
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems
- 3 - 5 years of sales experience
- Previous experience or familiarity in outdoor power equipment industry preferred
