Experienced Wage & Hour Attorney - Fully Remote Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated attorney to join our remote team and play a critical role in our most significant cases.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Counsel to join our dynamic Wage and Hour practice group. This is an ideal position for an experienced litigator with a proven track record of managing complex wage and hour class and collective actions. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for handling all aspects of their assigned cases independently, from initial filing through discovery and dispositive motion practice, including summary judgment. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a persuasive writer, and a tenacious advocate with a deep passion for worker justice.
Key Responsibilities
• Case Management: Independently manage a docket of complex wage and hour cases, including class actions, collective actions, and individual claims, ensuring all deadlines are met and cases are moved forward efficiently.
• Case Development: Help analyze new cases during pre-litigation investigations with an emphasis on analyzing potential damages to assess the viability of potential claims.
• Pleadings and Motions: Draft and prepare a wide range of legal documents, including complaints, discovery requests and responses, dispositive motions, class certification motions, and summary judgment briefs.
• Discovery: Oversee all aspects of the discovery process, including drafting and arguing discovery motions, taking and defending depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and corporate representatives (FRCP 30(b)(6)).
• Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of complex issues arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), California and Washington state wage and hour laws.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, explaining legal strategy, and preparing them for depositions and other litigation events.
• Settlement Negotiations: Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and conferences to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
• Strategy and Collaboration: Collaborate with partners and junior attorneys to develop and implement effective litigation strategies for each case.
Qualifications
Required:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to and good standing with the California or Washington State Bar Association.
• A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in employment law, with a significant focus on plaintiff-side wage and hour litigation.
• Demonstrated experience in handling all stages of litigation for complex class or collective action cases.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills, with experience arguing motions in state and federal court.
Preferred:
• Experience serving as first or second chair in depositions.
• Judicial clerkship experience.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior attorneys and paralegals.

Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary is $250k commensurate with relevant experience.
