Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Power BI Experience Required: 4–7 years Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Software Engineer – Power BI to join our Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Power BI development, data modeling, DAX, and performance optimization, with strong proficiency in SQL. The role involves designing and developing scalable BI solutions that enable business teams to make data-driven decisions efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports. Create optimized data models using DAX and Power Query (M) for analytical and operational reporting. Integrate Databricks as a primary data source within Power BI and optimize connectivity for performance. Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and Databricks SQL scripts for data extraction and transformation. Conduct performance tuning of Power BI reports and datasets to ensure scalability and responsiveness. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data and visualization requirements. Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage Power BI governance and access control. Work closely with data engineers and Databricks administrators to maintain robust data pipelines. Stay updated with the latest Power BI, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric capabilities and suggest enhancements. Document technical specifications, data flows, and best practices for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 4–7 years of experience in Power BI development and business intelligence solutions. Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Dataflows. Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling best practices. Strong hands-on experience in SQL and Databricks (Databricks SQL, Delta tables, or notebooks). Proven experience in performance optimization for large datasets and reports. Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes. Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Lake. Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data transformation in Databricks. Knowledge of Power BI CI/CD deployment pipelines and version control. Experience implementing BI governance and security frameworks. Revenera is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
