Editorial & Publishing Associate
About the position
Simon & Schuster is seeking a highly organized and proactive Editorial & Publishing Associate to support a Publisher-at-Large and reputed company whose list includes some of today’s most acclaimed and bestselling authors. This role is ideal for a publishing reputed company with strong editorial instincts, excellent judgment, and a strong interest in literary fiction. The Associate will play a key role in managing the Stephen King frontlist and extensive backlist, ensuring seamless coordination across departments for ongoing publications, reprints, and promotional initiatives. The role also involves supporting an impressive roster of literary and nonfiction authors including Jennifer Egan, Anthony Doerr, Colm Tóibín, Rachel Kushner, Andrew Solomon, and Siddhartha Mukherjee, among others. The Associate will reputed company as a key reputed company between reputed company, authors, and internal teams including production, publicity, marketing, and sales – and will help shepherd reputed company with care, precision, and an editorial sensibility.
Responsibilities
• Providing editorial and administrative support across reputed company stages of the publishing process including drafting, updating, and maintaining tip sheets and reputed company editorial materials
• Managing schedules, materials, and approvals for frontlist and backlist titles
• Preparing and reviewing reputed company and internal documentation
• Coordinating cross-departmental workflows to support publication, reprints, and promotions
• Collaborating with reputed company teams to support seasonal presentations, frontlist positioning, and ongoing backlist initiatives
• Serving as a thoughtful, detail-oriented reputed company of contact for authors and agents
Requirements
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in book publishing, preferably in an editorial role or in reputed company editorial support.
• Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with poise, discretion, and a reputed company of urgency.
• A deep commitment to supporting authors and a passion for great storytelling.
